Sekinchan, Kuala Selangor 1 Day Trip

Nov 30 going Sekinchan 1 day trip with my friends and also colleagus of my friend. We started with breakfast at Bangsar and I got my summon for not paying parking fees. Not a good start (T.T). After that we went to Kuala Selangor Nature Park. We went to Bukit Malawati for the view and also visited the museum. the museum is quite small but we can know the origin of some places name in Kuala Selangor and see some old weapons.

Then we visited Taman Ikan Tawar. It is quite interesting to see the trap used and variety of fish.

At Kuala Selangor, seafood is a must! After having seafood for lunch, we had coconut and durian as dessert. I didn't eat durian.
Our next stop is well known in Sekinchan... paddy field! The weather is not very good but luckily no rain.

We rent bicycles and cycled around paddy field. Thanks my friend who lead me in front... tried single one and fell (>_<). First time cycling this type of bicycle. Had a lot of fun.

After cycling, we went to the beach, not very clean but there's seashells everywhere. We also had BBQ at the beach. My stomach is not satisfied but the environment is good.

After dinner, we went to jetty to see fireflies but closed.... So, we just go back home.

Gunung Nuang Hiking

16 November 2013
Early in the morning.... 5.30am meet at Hulu Langat. Wake up super early in the morning, start to hike before the sunrise at around 6.30am... I was like.... "what am I doing?!"

Sam, me and Jaycee

Three of us going together, but Jaycee was left behind on the way because her ankle was pain. Sam and I were hiking together all the way. Really appreciate his help and support. I would not be able to make it without him.

First, it's a long~~~ road to Kem Lolo. The view is nice, but  it's quite discouraging to know that it is the simplest and just the beginning when we reach Kem Lolo after a few hours.
From Kem Lolo to Kem Pacat, there's more ' going up' hike in the jungle. We also have to cross a few rivers. There is waterfall too. Around 10am we reached Kem Pacat.

The most terrible part I experienced is from Kem Pacat to Puncak Pengasih, as the trail is super steep ( 65 degree?) I really climbing using hand, and it's really exhausting but at the same time exciting.

I just realised I keep using 'peace' sign when i take photo (-.-'')

Around 11.30pm we reach Puncak Pengasih. To be honest, it totally doesn't seems like a peak when we reach and see the sign board. We didn't continue to Nuang peak because we might have to spend 1.5 hours one way and the cut off time is 12pm. The weather also seems cloudy.

Unfortunately, it was raining when we go down. Going down the super steep road is difficult, but going down the super steep and slippery road is much more difficult. I am really exhausted and experienced uncountable falls. Slip and fall is usual but my hand hit a spiky plants and hurt my finger. Another unforgettable fall is that my right leg step on a loosen root and then deep into the water, I hardly stand up and regain my balance.
We have muddy river and waterfall all the way (where we step on). I remember a term used by a uncle we met in this hike- 'mud skating'.

My leg was very weak in the last few hours, especially the left leg as I always lost balance in a sudden. 'soft' and 'sour' in chinese... like lemon marshmallow (-.-'').
Finally we reach about 5pm. My leg is super tired and toe is painful. Thanks Sam who accompany, support and help me all the way and Jaycee who invite and wait us.

This hike actually makes me think of a few words and sayings....
1) Overestimating.
I know about this hike form meetup group, and I know the meetup group from my friend, Jaycee. We have decided to go Kota Kinabalu for Mount Kinabalu next year and Jaycee said it is a good idea to try Nuang. There are some reason why I think I'm overestimating myself
i) It is written 'Very hard' for the activity and I must admit that my stamina is low and I seldom hike.
ii)This is the first full day hike for me and yet I chose a very hard one.
We both know we might not able to reach the peak, yet we decided to try it out. Although I feel satisfaction and achievement of reaching Puncak Pengasih but I actually suffer muscle pain for a few days. Haha.

2)You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
It is applicable when I walking down the hill. I was exhausted, and painful but the only way I can choose is continue walking down. Keep telling myself that I can do it. and at last... I've made it! This is not the first time for this year. As I experienced the similar situation for rock climbing... not allowed to go down and yet exhausted up there. Sometimes, you just have no choice, neither going back, nor giving up... but to move on.
